Fat Program Has Slimmed Down

Please join us at our new, improved Fat program on Tuesday, March 24th, at Cooking by the Book. There are still a few spaces left!

Enjoy a selection of sweet and savory snacks straight from the pages of Jennifer McLagan's new cookbook, Fat. As we snack, this award-winning author (and recent IACP nominee) will speak on the history and fundamentals of this controversial ingredient and describe the struggle to get her book published.

Don't miss this fantastic opportunity to sip wines graciously donated by Montes Winery, Banfi, and Cliff Lede Vineyards and savor treats such as:

Rosemary-Flavored Pork Fat
Beurre de Gascon (duck fat spread with roasted garlic)
Duck Fat Biscuits with Cracklings
Bread and Kerrygold Butter with Cornichon and Radishes
Salted Butter Tart (a caramely thing)
Shortbread
Spiced Bacon Fat Cookies
Strawberries
Whipped Cream

Kerrygold Butter is generously helping to underwrite the program. All butter-rich goodies will be prepared with their butter. We will also sample Kerrygold salted and unsalted butter on Suzen O' Rouke's homemade sourdough bread.

Jennifer will be signing copies of Fat - available on sale at half price for $16.25 on a first-come, first get basis. CASH OR CHECKS, ONLY, PLEASE. NO CREDIT CARDS!

Purchase tickets at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/56713

If you have offered to make desserts or work at the program, we still need you and Miriam Rubin will be in touch. She will also be in touch with pre-registered attendees to issue credits.
