Movie & Discussion: Tableland

This program will include a viewing of Tableland, (p1-productions.com/tableland.html), a documentary and culinary expedition about the sustainable food movement in North America. Following the film we will have a discussion led by Martha Ma. We will see how local farmers and chefs work together with other food do-ers to bring food from the field to the plate, and discuss the four main issues the film tackles—sustainability, economics and marketing, health and taste education, and eating locally & seasonally. Guests will get to sample local and seasonal fare. Volunteers needed to help with sign-in at the door and to bring dishes made with Local and Seasonal ingredients.

Purchase tickets at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/634579 or contact program host Hilary Maler at 310-403-6317 to pay by check. (Make checks payable to NYWCA. Please include the name of the program, your name, and phone number.)
