Enjoy a screening of the consummate food film, Tampopo, while snacking on Japanese treats. A 1985 Japanese comedy directed by Juzo Itama and starring Tsutomu Yamazaki and Ken Watanabe, the story revolves around a new widow who owns a noodle shop and vows to find a recipe to make the best noodles ever. A truck driver becomes her accomplice and together they enter into merry adventures. Interspersed are riotous vignettes that portray food foibles in a variety of contexts. Tampopo has its eye squarely on food and is a film that changes perceptions about ways we deal with what we eat.
